MILFORD ON SEA has managed to maintain its village status with a population of approximately 4700, and has a good range of amenities, including a brand new medical centre, butchers, chemist, grocers, pubs and even a dog-grooming parlour! The village green is host to a variety of events, including the Village Carnival, May Day celebrations, Milford Music Festival and many others throughout the year. There is a village school and pre-school with excellent reputations, and good secondary schools in both Lymington and New Milton. On the sea front is a shingle beach affording spectacular views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight & Needles, and Christchurch Bay to Hengistbury Head.
MILFORD ON SEA is situated just 4 miles from the yachting centre of Lymington, a delightful Georgian town which is located to the south of the New Forest and has a busy Saturday market. Bournemouth is only 12 miles along the coast with beautiful sandy beaches, excellent nightlife and a huge selection of high street shops. Southampton is approximately 16 miles in the opposite direction and boasts a brand new shopping centre, cinema complex and ferry services to France and the Isle of Wight. THE NEW FOREST is a huge area of beautiful maintained open woodland and heathland where livestock including ponies, cattle, donkeys, small numbers of pigs, and sometimes sheep, are turned out to graze each year.
